Frequently Asked Questions

Will my previous credits transfer?

We offer generous credit transfer policies and evaluate all transcripts individually to maximize the number of credits you can apply toward your degree. Our goal is to help you save time and money while recognizing your prior academic efforts.

How many credits can I transfer?

You may be eligible to transfer up to 60% of a graduate program, or up to 75% of our undergraduate programs. We aim to reduce duplication of coursework and accelerate your path to graduation.

How do I start the transfer credit evaluation process?

It’s simple! Connect with your Nexford Application Specialist, who will coordinate with the Registrar's Office (registrar@nexford.edu) to have your unofficial transcripts reviewed. You’ll receive a detailed summary showing how your credits apply to your chosen program. Please note, the final evaluation is dependent upon receipt of official transcripts and the transfer credit review fee.

How quickly will I know which credits transfer?

We offer a fast, transparent transfer credit evaluation—often within 24 hours of receiving your unofficial transcripts. You'll get a clear, personalized report so you can make informed decisions right away. Please note, the final evaluation is dependent upon receipt of official transcripts and the transfer credit review fee.

Will I have support during the transfer process?

Absolutely. You’ll have a dedicated Nexford Application Specialist to guide you from transcript submission through enrollment. We prioritize a smooth, supportive transition for every student.

What qualifies for transfer credit?

We accept credits from a wide range of institutions, including college credit, professional certifications, standardized exams, and more. Our flexible policy helps learners and career changers leverage their diverse experiences. Be sure to ask if you are not sure! We want to maximize the credits you will receive.

Do I have to pay to have my credits evaluated?

Yes, we do have a $50 transfer credit review fee that is required for an official evaluation of transfer credit. Curious before committing? We offer a fast and free unofficial evaluation of transfer credit to help you make the right decision.

Will my Nexford University credits transfer to another university?

Want to transfer your Nexford credits elsewhere? Each university has its own credit transfer policy, so we recommend you contact them directly as it is the decision of the receiving school if transfer credits are approved.
